We use 'will' or 'be going to' followed by the base form of a verb to describe actions that will take place in the future. 'WIll is used to express a voluntary action or promise.
I will meet you at five o'clock.
She will go to the library this evening.
'Be going to' is used to express a plan.
I'm going to buy a new DVD player tomorrow.
Both 'be going to' and will are used to express a prediction.
The year 2011 will be a very interesting year.
The year 2011 is going to be a very interesting year.
